Marchesa ordered the shoes as they were, once they arrived they embroidered them to give an edgey effect! This was really a great idea for the shoes, especially since Marchesa decided to use all flats this year!

One of our favorite publications on Instagram is the quarterly magazine Kinfolk (@kinfolkmag). As the base for its stories and images, Kinfolk hosts dinners to bring together likeminded people in cities across the US. The @kinfolkmag Instagram account gives us a behind-the-scenes look at their day-to-day operations, from photo shoots to community dinners.
Editor Nathan Williams notes that Instagram has helped them find new contributors to the publication. “Our magazine is new so we’re always looking for interesting writers and photographers to bring on board,” Williams says. “I follow all the artists we’re working with on our team, then see updates on who they’re following and liking so it’s easy to come across new people and start a conversation that quickly moves to email or offline. We have a couple photographers and stylists in our next issue who I met this way.”
